| SBS Transit Ltd. is engaged in the provision of public transport services consisting of bus and rail services. The Company’s operations comprise four main business segments in Singapore: Bus, which generates income through bus fare collections; Rail, wherein the income is generated through rail fare collections; Advertisements, which generates income through advertisements on the buses, trains and at mass rapid transit (MRT) and light rail transit (LRT) stations, and Rental, which generates income through rental collections from commercial and shop space at bus interchanges and rail stations. As of December 31, 2008, the Company operated 33 bus services. As of December 31, 2008, it had a total fleet of 2,885 buses. The various bus services offered by the Company include Basic Services, Premium Services, Nite Owl Services, Fast Forward Services, Express Services, Chinatown Direct Services, Stadium Direct Services and Parks Services. |
