At 28-Sep-2008, the Group operated 176 stores. The Group operates through its subsidiaries, Harris Teeter and American & Efird, Inc. The Group operates in two segments: Retail grocery and Industrial Thread. Retail Grocery includes real estate and store development activities. Industrial Thread includes technical textiles and embroidery thread. The Group operates in the United States, Canada, China, Costa Rica, England, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong, Nicaragua, Italy, Mexico, Malaysia and Poland.
