| The Group's principal activity is to provide banking, brokerage and investment services, mortgage banking, insurance brokerage and specialty financing services. The other financial services include investment banking, asset management, trust, mutual funds, leasing and other specialty financing. The Group operates in three segments: General Banking/Treasury, Investment Banking, Brokerage and Trust and Insurance. General Banking/Treasury provides traditional commercial, retail and mortgage banking services. Investment Banking, Brokerage and Trust provide investment banking, brokerage and trust services in approximately 332 offices of Morgan Keegan, a subsidiary of Regions. Insurance provides insurance-related services through Regions Insurance Group, Inc., a subsidiary of Regions and a full-line insurance brokerage firm. The Group's banking subsidiaries operated in 1,900 offices across a 16-state geographic footprint in the South, Midwest and Texas. |
