| The Group's principal activity is to operate as an equity real estate investment trust. It is a fully integrated, self-administered real estate Group with in-house acquisition, leasing, legal, retail and real estate research, portfolio management and capital markets expertise, with the primary objective of generating dependable monthly dividends. Portfolio management focus includes contractual rent increases on existing leases and selective sales of properties. Acquisition of additional properties includes acquisition of freestanding, single-tenant, retail properties, properties leased to regional and national retails chains and properties under long-term, net-lease agreements. At 31-Dec-2007, the Group owned 2,270 retail properties located in 48 states. These properties are leased to 115 retail chains that operate in 30 retail industries. The Group acquired 378 new properties during 2007. |
