| The Group's principal activity is Retail sale of consumer electronics goods through company-owned and dealer or franchise outlets. It operates in two segments: RadioShack company-operated stores and kiosks. The RadioShack consists solely of its 4,653 company-operated retail stores, all operating under the RadioShack brand name. The Kiosks segment consists of its network of 688 kiosks, primarily located in major shopping malls. Both of its reportable segments engage in the sale of consumer electronic products. The product includes electronic parts and accessories, cellular, PCs and conventional telephones, audio and video equipment, direct-to-home (DTH) satellite systems and personal computers and related products. It serves the international import or export, sourcing, evaluation, logistics and quality control needs. In December 2008 it acquired Grupo Gigante, S.A.B de C.V. |
