| The Group's principal activities are to generate, transmit, distribute and sell electricity and natural gas in North and South Carolina and Florida. It is also into the business of telecommunication services, coal and synthetic fuel operations, energy management and merchant energy generation. The Group operates in three segments: PEC, PEF and Corporate & Other . The Electric utility encompasses all regulated utility operations. It also provides electricity generation, coal terminal service, coal mining, manufacturing and delivery, synthetic fuels production, merchant generation and energy marketing. The Corporate and Other segment includes regulated and nonregulated businesses. |
