It operates through three segments: Wholesale, Retail and Licensing. The Wholesale sales are principally made to major department and specialty stores located throughout the United States and Europe. The Group also sells directly to consumers through full-price and factory retail stores located throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, South America and Asia and through its jointly owned retail internet site, www.Polo.com. In addition, it licenses the right to third parties to use its various trademarks in connection with the manufacture and sale of designated products, such as apparel, eyewear and fragrances, in specified geographical areas for specified periods. The brand names include Polo, Polo by Ralph Lauren, RLX, Ralph Lauren, Chaps, Club Monaco and others. |
