| The Group's principal activities are exploring and producing petroleum and gas, producing petrochemicals, operating refineries, distributing and transporting hydrocarbon, and generating electricity. The exploration and production of petroleum and gas are carried out through joint ventures with Repsol YPF, Anadarko, TotalfinaElf and Chevron. Petrochemical activities include the production of styrene, polystyrene, rubber, fertilizers and polypropylene. Refining includes the exploration and operation of refineries such as Refineria del Norte in Argentina and Empresa Boliviana de Refinacion in Bolivia. Electricity includes the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity. Hydrocarbon includes the distribution of gas and liquefied petroleum gas or LPG produced in Argentina. It operates in Argentina, Venezuela, Bolivia, Peru, Brazil and Ecuador. |
