| The Group's principal activity is to provide innovative materials for manufacturing, construction, automotive and chemical processing industries. The Group operates under five business segments. Industrial Coatings segment supplies coatings and finishes along with adhesives, sealants, inks and metal pretreatment products. The Performance and Applied Coatings supplies coatings, sealants and finishes along with paint strippers, transparent armor, transparencies, stains and related chemicals. The Optical and Specialty Materials produces Transitions(R)lenses, sunlenses, optical materials, polarized film and amorphous precipitated silica products. The Glass segment supplies flat glass, fabricated glass and continuous-strand fiber glass products. The Commodity Chemicals segment produces chlor-alkali and derivatives products. It operates in the United States and other foreign countries. In 2007, it acquired the architectural paint unit of Barloworld Coatings Australia. |
