The Group's principal activity is operating self-service retail stores selling clothes, general merchandise and supermarket items. It operates stores with different sales concepts such as Hipermercado Soriana and Soriana Mercado and Soriana Super. It also operates a chain of price-club stores under the name of City Club which sells wholesale and semi-wholesale goods. At 31-December-2008, the Group had an operation of 465 self-service stores, which includes 30 price-clubs. In addition to that, the Company has 243 franchises in operation.
