The Group's principal activity is carried out through its Chemicals, Agriculture and Mining divisions. Chemical division manufactures and distributes chemicals and polymers in the sub-Saharan countries. These products are used in such industries as food and beverage, fish canning, textile, water care, metal treatment, surface coating, petroleum and chemical formulating. Agriculture operation produces Limestone ammonium nitrate, single super phosphate and potassium sulfate at the Sasolburg plant. This division also develops special fertilizer compounds to address every specific farmer's needs. The sulphur and magnesium ranges are used to assist in the yield enhancing capacity of crops. Mining business provides bulk explosive formulations for surface mines and also manufactures packaged explosives for both the underground market and for specialised surface blasting. This division offers bulk emulsion products that is used extensively in strip coal mines.
