| The Group's principal activity is to provide business-to-business office product solutions and retail office products. It operates through three segments namely: OfficeMax Contract, Officemax Retail and Corporate and Other. The products and services offered include office supplies and paper, print and document services, technology products and solutions and furniture to large, medium and small businesses and consumers. As of 26-Jan-2008, OfficeMax Contract operated 51 distribution centers and 6 customer service and outbound telesales centers and Retail segment operated 981 stores. The Group operated more than 36,000 associates through direct sales, catalogs, the Internet and retail stores. The Group has operations in the United States, the District of Columbia, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Mexico. |
