The Group's principal activity is to produce the zinc, lead and alloys. The Group also produces silver. The zinc produced is used primarily in steel galvanising and die-casting and our lead is used primarily in the production of lead acid batteries. The operating segments are classified as Hobart smelter, Port Pirie smelter, Clarksville refinery, Budel smelter, Auby smelter, Balen smelter and Chinese Operations. The Group operates throughout the world. The Group was created from the zinc and lead smelting and alloying assets of Umicore and Zinifex.
