| The Group's principal activity is to operate airlines, for transporting passengers and cargo. It provides airline network through domestic hubs at Detroit, Minneapolis or St. Paul and Memphis, the Pacific route system with a hub in Tokyo, a transatlantic joint venture with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and a domestic and international alliance with Continental Airlines Inc and Delta Air Lines Inc. It also has a membership in SkyTeam, a global airline alliance with KLM, Continental, Delta, Air France, Alitalia, Aeromexico, CSA Czech Airlines and Korean Air; marketing agreements with two domestic regional carriers, Pinnacle Airlines Inc and Mesaba Aviation Inc, both of which operate as Northwest Airlink; and a cargo business that operates 14 dedicated freighter aircraft through hubs in Anchorage and Tokyo. It operates in United States, Japan and Atlantic regions. On 24-Apr-2007, the Group's acquired Mesaba. |
