The Group's principal activities are the production and supply of oil and gas, production of aluminium and specialty fertilizers. The Group operates in four segments: Aluminium Metal, Aluminium Products, Energy and Others. Aluminium Metal activities include the production of bauxite and alumina, primary aluminium, remelting of metal, and the international trading of aluminium and aluminium products. Aluminium Products comprises the downstream activities. The main operations are within Rolled Products, Extrusion, Building systems, Automotive structures and Precision tubing. Energy is responsible for external sourcing of energy to the Group's worldwide aluminium operations and the operation of the Group's power stations in Norway. Others include all business activities other than the above. The Group operates worldwide. In 2008, the Group acquired Alumafel and Expral S.A. in Spain
