The Group's principal activity is to accept retail deposits and originate multi-family loans on rent-controlled and rent-stabilized buildings in New York City. It serves its customers through two bank subsidiaries: New York Community Bank and New York Commercial Bank. New York Community Bank is a state-chartered savings bank with 179 branches in New York City, Long Island, Westchester County and New Jersey. The New York Community Bank currently operates through six local divisions: Queens County Savings Bank, Roslyn Savings Bank, Richmond County Savings Bank, Roosevelt Savings Bank, Synergy Bank, and Garden State Community Bank. New York Commercial Bank currently has 387branches serving Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Westchester County, and Long Island, including 18 branches operating under the name Atlantic Bank
