Thomson Financial Business Description:
| The Group's principal activities are to own and operates insurance companies, risk bearing entities and insurance underwriters and managers. It underwrites ocean marine, inland marine, aircraft and other liability insurance through insurance pools managed by Mutual Marine Office Inc, Pacific Mutual Marine Office Inc and Mutual Marine Office of the Midwest Inc. It accepts on behalf of the pools, insurance risks brought to the pools by brokers and others. All premiums, losses and expenses are prorated among the pool members in accordance with their percentage participation in the pools. The Group also participates in the risks underwritten for the pools through New York Marine And General Insurance Company and Gotham Insurance Company. It also consolidates its interest in a limited partnership hedge fund. The operations are carried on in the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America. |
