| The Group's principal activity is to provide retail home video in rural and secondary markets. As on 31-Dec-2005, the Group owns and operates 4,800 stores throughout North America, the United States, Canada and Mexico, which rents and sells videocassettes, DVDs and video games. These stores offer from 2,700 to 16,000 movies and video games for use with most video game platforms. The Group's operations are conducted through its wholly owned subsidiaries, Movie Gallery US Inc. and Movie Gallery Canada, Inc. The Group has operations in the United States and Canada. On 27-Apr-2005, the Group acquired Hollywood Entertainment Corporation and on 17-Mar-2005, acquired 85.7% interest in VHQ Entertainment. |
