The Group's principal activity is retailing children's clothing, nursery equipment, homewares and maternity products. Products include clothing, hardware and toys for mothers-to-be as well as young children. It has two primary operating segments, Mothercare UK and International. Mothercare UK comprises the United Kingdom store operations, catalogue and web sales. International comprises the Group's franchise operations outside the United Kingdom. It has a total of 919 stores in the United Kingdom and internationally.
