The Group's principal activities are to provide credit ratings, research and risk analysis covering debt instruments and securities in the global capital markets. It operates in two segments: Moody's Investors Service and Moody's KMV. Moody's investor service segment publishes investor-oriented credit research, including in-depth research on major debt issuers, industry studies, special comments and credit opinion handbooks. Moody's KMV provides credit risk processing and credit risk management products for banks and investors in credit-sensitive assets. It provides training for credit risk analysis products and software products to assist financial institutions. It operates in United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Japan.
