| The Group's principal activities are magazine publishing and television broadcasting, integrated marketing and interactive media. The Group operates in two segments: Publishing and Broadcasting. The Publishing segment includes magazine and book publishing, integrated marketing, interactive media, database-related activities, brand licensing and other related operations. The segment includes approximately 150 special interest publications and 420 books in print. The magazine brands include Homes and Gardens, Family Circle, Ladies Home Journal, Parents, American Baby and Fitness. The broadcasting segment includes 12 network-affiliated television stations and 1 AM radio station. The television stations consist of 6 CBS affiliates, 3 FOX affiliates, 2 MyNetworkTV affiliates and 1 NBC affiliate. It also includes 20 traditional websites, 7 mobile websites and video related operations. In October 2007 it acquired Directive Corporation and Big Communications in Jun. |
