| The Group's principal activity is operating and franchising restaurant businesses under the McDonald's brand. The Group also operates other restaurants under its partner brands: Boston Market and Chipotle Mexican Grill. The Group offers hamburgers and cheeseburgers, Big Mac, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Filet-O-Fish, several chicken sandwiches, Chicken McNuggets, Chicken Selects, french fries, salads, shakes, McFlurry desserts, sundaes and soft serve cones, pies, cookies and soft drinks and other beverages. All restaurants are operated by the Group, or under the terms of franchise arrangements, by franchisees who are independent entrepreneurs or by affiliates operating under joint-venture agreements between the Group and local business people. It operates in the United States, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, Latin America and Canada. |
