| The Group's principal activity is to produce aggregates for the construction industry including highways, infrastructure, commercial and residential. It operates in two segments: Construction aggregates: Processes and sells granite, limestone, sand, gravel and other related products. These are used in all sectors of public infrastructure, commercial and residential construction industries. Magnesia specialties: Manufactures and markets dolomitic lime and magnesia-based heat-resistant refractories products which are used for steel industry and industrial, agricultural and environmental use respectively. In 2005, the Group shipped from a network of 307 quarries, distribution facilities and plants to customers in 28 states, Canada, and the Bahamas. Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, Iowa and South Carolina account for 58% of total 2006 net sales. |
