| The Group's principal activities are to explore, produce, market and transport crude oil, natural gas and petroleum products. The Group's operations are carried out through three segments: Refining, Marketing and Transportation, Exploration and Production,Integrated Gas and Oil Sands Mining business. The Refining, Marketing and Transportation segment refines markets and transports crude oil through seven refineries. The Exploration and Production segment produces crude oil and natural gas in seven countries. The Integrated Gas markets and transports natural gas and products manufactured from natural gas, such as LNG and methanol, on a worldwide basis. The Oil Sands produces bitumen from oil sands and upgrades to synthetic crude oil. The Group operates in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, West Africa, Equatorial Guinea, Angola and Gabon. The Group acquired in October 2007, Western Oil Sands Inc. |
