Manulife Insurance Berhad is principally engaged in investment holding and the underwriting of life insurance business. The Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Manulife Holdings Berhad. The Company’s core business is the provision of individual life insurance products to meet the financial and protection needs of Malaysians. The Company fulfills the needs of more than 270,000 policyholders, served by an agency force of 1,500 agents and supported by a network of six regional support centres, with over 50 agency offices located throughout Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia. Its wholly owned subsidiaries include Britama Credit Sdn Bhd, which is engaged in money lending and hire purchase; Britama Properties Sdn Bhd, which is engaged in property rental and management, and British American Investments Pte Ltd, which is engaged in investment holding and dealing. On 4 June 2008, the Company acquired Manulife Asset Management (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.
