The Group's principal activities are to operate department stores & direct-to-consumer businesses that sell a broad range of products & services. The products offered by the Group are men's, women's and children's apparel and accessories, cosmetics, home furnishings & other consumer goods. It also offers on-line bridal registry & gift purchase facilities to customers. As of 31-Jan-2009, the Group operated 847 retail stores in 45 states under brand names of Macy's and Bloonmingdale's. The Group has its operations in the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Guam.
