The Group's principal activity is that of a Real Estate Investment Trust. The Group has been approved as a Real Estate Investment Trust under sections 856 through 860 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended. The Group owns and operates a real estate portfolio comprised predominantly of Class A office and office or flex properties located primarily in the Northeast. The Group also provides commercial real estate leasing, management, acquisition, development, construction and tenant-related services for its properties. As of 31-Dec-2008, the Group owns or has interests in 293 properties, primarily office and office or flex buildings.
