The Group's principal activity is to construct and sell single family homes. The Group operates under four product segments:Midwest homebuilding, Florida homebuilding, Mid-Atlantic homebuilding and financial services. Homebuilding operations include the development and sale of land and the construction and sale of single-family attached and detached homes in Columbus and Cincinnati, Ohio; Tampa, Orlando and Palm Beach County, Florida; Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina; Indianapolis, Indiana; and the Virginia and Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C. Its homes are marketed and sold under the trade names M/I Homes, Showcase Homes and Shamrock Homes. The Financial services segment provides mortgage financing services through M/I Financial Corp and title-related services through affiliated entities.
