| The Group's principal activity is to provide products and services for the development of drugs and diagnosis and treatment of diseases. It operates through three segments. The Pharmaceutical Research Services segment provides research services on contract from pre-clinical development to Phase II(a) clinical trials. The Isotopes and Molecular Imaging segment produces Isotopes used in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and to sterilize medical and other products, including food. In addition, it also manufactures and sells isotope-based cancer therapy equipment. The Analytical Instruments segment designs, develops and manufactures analytical instruments and related operating systems, software and other products. On 20-Mar-2007, the Group acquired Molecular Devices Corporation. |
