The Group's principal activities are retailing and provides customers insurance benefits. The Group has three business segments, Retail, Financial services and Risk Services. Retail sells a range of furniture and appliances through 535 Lewis and 88 Best Electric stores. Sales are mainly on credit. Insurance is a short-term insurer that underwrites customer protection insurance benefits to South African customers. There are also trading subsidiaries in Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Swaziland operating under the Lewis brand.
