| The Group's principal activity is to provide products, applications and solutions for the pulp and paper industry, as well as for water treatment, the paint business and the chemical industry. The Group operates in four segments: Kemira Pulp & Paper, Kemira Water, Kemira Specialty and Kemira Coatings. Kemira Pulp and Paper provides chemicals for the pulp and paper industry. Kemira Water segment offers water treatment chemicals and customized solutions, as well as sludge treatment chemicals for municipal and private water treatment plants and industry. Kemira Specialty segment offers titanium dioxide, organic acids, salts and blends, bleaching agents for detergents. Kemira Coatings manufactures paint in the Northern and Eastern Europe. The Group operates in Finland, Other EU countries, Rest of Europe, North and South America, Asia and Other countries. The Group acquired Nheel Quimica Ltda, Finncolor Slovakia sro, Farggladje Maleributiken I Alvik AB in 2008. |
