| The Group's principal activity is to provide financial services through its subsidiary Kearny Federal Savings Bank. The Group attracts retail deposits from general public and uses those deposits in investing and lending activities. It invests in mortgage-backed securities, the United States Government obligations, obligations of state and political subdivisions and other securities. The Group's loan portfolio consists of one-to-four family mortgage loans, multi-family and commercial mortgage loans, construction loans, commercial business loans, home equity loans and lines of credit and other consumer loans. The Group operates through its main office in Kearny, New Jersey and 26 branch offices located in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Morris, Ocean, Passaic and Union Counties. |
