The Group's principal activity is the provision of banking and insurance services in Belgium and abroad. The Group operates under four segments: Traditional Banking (loans, deposits, savings certificates, leasing, factoring, payments and securities), Insurance (personal and group life assurance, non-life insurance and reinsurance), European private banking (Group's banking and insurance activities) and Holding Company Activities (marketing, logistics, IT and communication services). The Group operates mainly in Belgium, Central Europe, Eastern Europe and Russia. In 2008, the Group acquired Istrobanka and Richelieu Finance.
