| The Group's principal activity is the provision of banking and insurance services in Belgium and abroad. The Group offers the following services to customers: Traditional Banking (loans, deposits, savings certificates, leasing, factoring, payments and securities), Insurance (personal and group life assurance, non-life insurance and reinsurance), Markets (money and capital market activities) and Asset Management (issues, management, purchases and sales of investment funds, discretionary management on behalf of customers). The Group operates mainly in Belgium, Central Europe, Eastern Europe and Russia. In 2007, the Group acquired Swiss Capital, Romstal Leasing, Russian Absolut Bank, DZI Insurance, Baltic Investment Company and Economic and Investment Bank. |
