| The Group's principal activity is to produce and market tea leaves and green-tea drinks. The operations are carried out through the following divisions: Drinks, Tea Leaves and Others. The Drinks segment plans and develops beverages, outsources the manufacture of products to external makers, and purchases and sells finished products, as well as purchases raw materials for fruit juice and coffee, and cultivates tea leaves. The Tea Leaves segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of green tea, oolong tea, black tea, barley tea and brown rice tea nationwide in Japan, as well as the manufacture of green tea in overseas. The Others segment purchases laver and other Japanese confectioneries, and sells them through direct and franchise stores. This segment is also involved in the planning, development, purchase and sale of food products, the operation of restaurants, as well as the manufacture and sale of supplement in the United States. |
