Investor AB is a Sweden-based industrial holding company. The Company’s operations are divided into two principal business areas: Core Investments and Financial Investments. As of December 31, 2011, the Core Investments business area was comprised of minority ownerships in global listed companies and included holdings in the companies, such as Atlas Copco, ABB, SEB, AstraZeneca, Ericsson, Electrolux, Saab, NASDAX OMX, Husqvarna and Saab, as well as the Company’s subsidiaries: Molnlycke Health Care, Aleris and Grand Hotel. The Financial Investments business area includes the Company’s investments in its unlisted partner-owned companies, such as Gambro, Lindorff, 3 Scandinavia, Kunskapsskolan, Novare and SamSari Act Group. The business area’s other activities include investments in EQT Funds and the wholly owned subsidiary, Investor Growth Capital (IGC), which focuses on late-stage venture capital in the United States and China. In May 2013, it acquired Permobil.
