| The Group's principal activity is to mine and process minerals to manufacture products for the chemical industry. The products are used in the manufacture construction material, paper, paint, plastic, ceramics, telecommunications, beverage filtration, personal care products. Pigments & Additives involves pigments for paper and performance minerals used for paints, plastics and adhesives. Building Materials includes the production of clay roof tiles, accessories, high quality slates, bricks and clay chimney blocks. Refractories and Abrasives comprises of trading and processing of high quality industrial minerals such as brown and white fused-alumina, magnesium and olivine chromite. Ceramics and Specialities involve raw materials, ceramic bodies for tableware, sanitaryware and floor tiles. In 2008, the Group acquired Astron China, Svenska Silika Verken AB, Kings Mountain Minerals, Inc and Suzorite Mining, Inc. |
