The Group's principle activity is to provide broadband satellite network services and systems to the enterprise market. It also provides satellite Internet access to North American consumers and small and medium sized businesses, such as small office and home office users, which it refer to as the Consumer market. It operates in four segments: the North America VSAT segment includes the Consumer group and the Enterprise group; the International VSAT segment includes Enterprise group, which includes international service companies, the Telecom Systems segment include the Mobile Satellite Systems group, the Telematics group and the Terrestrial Microwave group and the Corporate and Other segment various minority investments held by the Group. The Hughes Network Systems (HNS) also provides end-to-end communications network, broadband connectivity and digital media services. It provides customised enterprise solutions. On February 2008, it acquired Helius, Inc.
