| The Group's principal activity is to develop, process and distribute food products. It operates under five segments: The Grocery Products segment consists of processing, marketing and sale of shelf-stable food products sold in the retail market. The Refrigerated Foods segment consists of the processing, marketing, and sale of branded and unbranded pork products for retail, foodservice and fresh product customers. The Jennie-O Turkey Store consists of processing, marketing and sale of branded and unbranded turkey products. The Specialty Foods segment consists of the packaging and sale of various sugar and sugar substitute products, salt and pepper products, dessert mixes, gelatin products, and private label canned meats to retail and foodservice customers. The Group markets its products in United States, Australia. In fiscal 2007, the group acquired Saag's Products Inc and Burke Corporation. |
