The Group's principal activity is operating stock exchange and futures exchange in Hong Kong and their related clearing houses. The Group's business consists of four segments: Cash Market, Derivatives Market, Clearing Business and Information Services. The cash market business refers to the operations of the stock exchange covers all products traded on the cash market platforms, such as equities, debt securities, unit trusts, warrants and rights. The derivatives market business refers to the derivatives products, which include provision and maintenance of trading platforms for a range of derivatives products, such as equity, currency and interest rate futures and options. The Clearing Business is responsible for clearing, settlement and custodian activities and the related risk management of cash market activities. The information services is responsible for developing, promoting, compiling and sales of real-time, historical, as well as statistical market data.
