Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. is a Japan-based company that is mainly engaged in the manufacture, sale and rental of construction equipment and industrial vehicles, as well as the provision of services. The Company had two business segments. The Construction Machinery segment’s major products include hydraulic shovels, mini shovels, wheel loaders and crawler cranes, among others. The Industrial Vehicle segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of forklifts, transfer cranes, container carriers and others. In October 2010, the Company established a subsidiary in South Africa. In March 2011, it established a subsidiary Hitachi Construction Machinery Middle East Corporation FZE in the United Arab Emirates.
