| The Henderson Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc is a United Kingdom-based investment trust. The Company’s investment objective is to maximize shareholders total returns by investing in smaller companies that are quoted in the United Kingdom. As on May 31, 2010, there were 114 holdings of the Company. The Company’s investments include shares, securities and related financial instruments, including derivatives. The Company will not invest more than 5% of its total gross assets, calculated as at the time of investment (or additional investment), in any one holding. During the fiscal year ended May 31, 2010 (fiscal 2010), the Company's portfolio by sector consisted of support services (20%), electronic and electrical equipment (9.7%), media (8%), software and computer services (7.5%), financial services (6.7%), real estate (5.5%) and aerospace and defense (5.3%). The Company’s portfolio of investments is managed by Henderson Global Investors Limited. |
