| The Group's principal activity is drilling of oil and gas wells for others on contract. In addition, the Group owns, develops and operates commercial real estate. The Group operates through two segments: Contract drilling and Real estate. The Contract drilling operations consist of contracting company-owned drilling equipment primarily to major oil and gas exploration companies. Its contract drilling business is composed of three reportable business segments: U.S. land drilling, U.S. offshore platform drilling and international drilling. It provides drilling rigs, equipment, personnel and camps on a contract basis so its customers may explore for and develop oil and gas from onshore areas and from fixed platforms, tension-leg platforms and spars in offshore areas. The Groups real estate investments are located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It owns and leases to third parties multi-tenant warehouse space. The Group operates in the United States, Venezuela, Chile and Ecuador. |
