Grupo Elektra SA de CV is a Mexico-based company engaged, through its subsidiaries and affiliates, in the financial sector, as well as in the retail of consumer electronics, household appliances, furniture and a variety of cyclical consumer goods. The Company main activities are structured into two business divisions: Financial Business, which comprises the operations of its subsidiaries involved in the provision of a range of banking products and services; and Commercial Business, which includes the management and operation of the Elektra and Salinas y Rocha stores. It operates a network of over 2,900 sales outlets nationwide and in Panama, Guatemala, Honduras, Argentina, Peru, Brazil and El Salvador. As of December 31, 2011, the Company owned such subsidiaries as Banco Azteca SA, Afore Azteca SA de CV, Elektra del Milenio SA de CV, Salinas y Rocha SA de CV and Seguros Azteca Danos SA de CV, among others. In addition, the Company was a member of Grupo Salinas.
