The Group's principal activity is to sell insurance and investment-related products in the US and internationally. It operates in three segments: Retirement and Protection, International and U.S. Mortgage Insurance. Protection segment includes life insurance, long-term care insurance, group life and health insurance and European consumer payment protection insurance. Retirement Income and Investments segment includes individual fixed and variable annuities, group variable annuities and single premium immediate annuities. Mortgage Insurance includes insurance products that facilitate homeownership by enabling borrowers to buy homes with low-down-payment mortgages.
