| The Group's principal activity is to develop, manufacture and market proprietary electro-optical products combining photoelectric sensing devices with related electronic circuitry. It operates through two segments: Automotive Products and Fire Protection Products. The Automotive Products division manufactures electrochromic, automatic-dimming mirrors for the auto industry. The Fire Protection Products division maintains an extensive line of commercial fire protection products including smoke detectors and audio/visual signaling devices. These products are generally used in fire detection systems common to large office buildings, hotels, motels, military bases, college dormitories and other commercial establishments. The major customers include General Motors Corporation, Toyota Motor Corporation, DaimlerChrysler AG and BMW. The Group operates in the United States, Germany, Japan, United Kingdom, France, Korea, China and Sweden. |
