| The Group's principal activities are the production, refining, distribution and marketing of energy. The Group generates and markets electricity, heat and oil, operates and maintains power plants and provides energy-related services. The main products are electricity, heat and steam, traffic fuels and heating oils. The Group operates under four segments: Power Generation produces and sells electricity through power plants; Heat produces and sells steam and district heating through combined power and heat plants; Market focuses on the retail sale of electricity to private and business customers and other electricity retailers and Distribution focuses on the distribution and regional network transmissions. It operates in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Poland and Other European countries (Baltic and UK). In 2007 it acquired Fortum Parnu OU in Estonia, Fortum Latvija SIA in Latvia and EC Wojkowice in Poland. |
