The Group's principal activity is to procide diversified energy that generates, transmits and distributes electricity and also provides energy management and other energy-related services. The business is carried out through eight utility operating companies: Ohio Edison Company, The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company, The Toledo Edison Company, Pennsylvania Power Company, American Transmission Systems Inc, Jersey Central Power and Light Company, Metropolitan Edison Company and Pennsylvania Electric Company. It has three reportable operating segments: energy delivery services, competitive energy services and Ohio transitional generation services.
