| The Group's principal activity is providing a range of specialised services to the oil and gas industry that focuses on measuring, improving, controlling and processing flow from oil and gas wells. These services relate to the reservoir, well bore and surface facilities of an oil field development. The Regional Businesses comprise the technologies and services which are predominantly local, infrastructure dependent and driven by client operating expenditure. This encompasses business stream and well testing. The Global Businesses comprise those products and services which are driven by global customer capital expenditure. They are technically differentiated and require strong project management skills. This encompasses business stream including Subsea Safety Tools and subsurface brand Tronic-Matre, as well as Production Solutions. During 2008, the Group acquired the entire share capital of Analytical Data Services Ltd. |
