| The Group's principal activity is to manufacture and market beauty products. It products include skin care, makeup, fragrance and hair care products. Skin care products include moisturizers, creams, lotions, cleansers, sun screens and self-tanning products. Makeup products include lipsticks, lip glosses, mascaras, foundations, eyeshadows, nail polishes and powders. Fragrance products include eau de parfum sprays and colognes, as well as lotions, powders, cream and soaps that are based on a particular fragrance. Hair care products include hair color and styling products, shampoos, conditioners and finishing sprays. The Group's products are sold in over 140 countries and territories under the following brand names: Estee Lauder, Aramis, Clinique, Origins, MAC, Bobbi Brown, La Mer and Aveda. During fiscal 2009, the Group acquired Applied Genetics Incorporated Dermatics. |
