The Group's principal activities are development, management and acquisition of apartment properties in the United States. The Group is a publicly owned real estate investment trust. The Group's reportable segments includes Northeast, South, West and Other includes Equity Corporate Housing and condominium conversion. As of 31-Mar-2008, the Group owned 548 properties in 23 states and the District of Columbia consisting of 147,244 apartment units. The Group operates throughout the United States.
